Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Daisy Bell Davis, 91, of Lawton, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Lawton.
Daisy Bell Miller Davis was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late Katie Catherine Jones Miller and Charles Preston Miller on December 31, 1933. Daisy was raised on a farm and was blessed to have been born into a very large, loving family, the last of seventeen (17) children. Daisy attended school in St. Matthews, South Carolina and later journeyed to New York to join several of her older siblings.
Daisy and Thomas James Davis, Jr. (TJ) would meet in New York having grown up one mile apart from each other in South Carolina and join in matrimony, May 28, 1955. From this union, there were three children who brought love and joy to their lives: Thomas Bradley, Audrey Yvonne, and Daphne Valence.
As a United States Army military spouse, Daisy served a critical and supportive role in caring for her family as TJ's military career would take him and their family from Staten Island, New York, to Tacoma (Fort Lewis) Washington, to Baumholder, Germany, back to Fort Lewis, and then to Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma where they settled to raise their three children after TJ retired.
Daisy prioritized her role as mother and wife taking care of their home, loving TJ and their children. She was always available to Bradley, Audrey and Daphne before and after school and she often volunteered in their classrooms everywhere they lived. After the children became of age, Daisy restarted her career by joining her dearest and oldest friend providing professional custodial services to Lawton businesses and homes.
She was a member of Northwest Baptist Church (formerly named Cache Road Baptist Church) where she served in many ministries including the nursery and call support. She attended Adult Sunday School on a regular basis where she nurtured her children as they came to know their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and would be baptized into the Christian faith.
In recent years when Daisy was no longer physically able to attend church in person, every Sunday she would faithfully watch In Touch Ministries on television at 8:00am and then from 11:00-12:00p she would watch First Baptist Church Lawton Fort Sill on television as well.
Daisy had a strong, quiet, faithful, reserved and private spirit about her that was recognized by everyone she met. She will be dearly missed as she blessed so many lives with her faithful encouragement to trust in Jesus and to always keep God first in life throughout her 91+ years.
Survivors include three children Thomas Bradley Davis, Audrey Yvonne Davis, and Daphne Valence Davis as well as a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Her parents, her husband, TJ, ten sisters Lucille, Lillian, Simsey, Evelyn, Ernestine, Addie, Adele, Allean, Dorothy, Queenie, and six brothers Bill, Zeke, Connie, Harold, John, Ernest preceded her in death.
