As part of the Army's nuclear weapons testing in 1953 Robert was present during the detonation of a 43 kiloton atomic bomb, which he often described as one of the most profound events in his life. Together, they traveled on many tours of duty throughout Europe and the United States until his retirement as a CW4 at Fort Sill, OK in 1979. After the Army, he worked for Telos in Lawton, OK as a technical writer for the MLRS rocket system until his retirement in 1992. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. He loved to listen to jazz and was an avid reader. Robert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all his loved ones.
