Lynn peacefully took his last breath, just before midnight, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, surrounded by God's angels and Jesus took him to his heavenly home.

Lynn began his journey, here on earth, on May 27, 1935, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. His parents, Lovic Buford "Louie" Pierce and Zora Helen (Phillips) Pierce were poor and worked hard their whole lives, but they were rich in the things that mattered. They were surrounded by large, loving Christian families on both sides. Lynn was the middle child. The oldest brother, Wayne, was three years older and his younger brother, Glen, was six years younger. Lynn started working in restaurants, from a young age, while attending school. He started out as a dishwasher on stacked crates, so he could reach the sink. Lynn worked his way up in the restaurant industry.

Lynn was a man of many talents. He spent many hours with Grandpa Phillips and Phillips uncles, especially Uncle Juel, his special cousin, Dortha Lee "Dottie" Bennett, and, of course, his dad. Grandpa Phillips, his uncles and dad taught him how to hunt and fish, to help him learn to provide for his family. The hunting, also, prepared him for his Army career. When he first enlisted, he was in artillery and was a sharpshooter. While stationed in Occupied Germany, there was a shortage of cooks, so he was transferred from Artillery to Food Service, because of his long history in restaurants. Lynn received many awards, commendations, and medals during his 26 years of service, attaining the highest rank (CWO4) in his field at the time of his retirement. He was proud to share that honor with his brother. They were, not only biological brothers, but comrades in arms. They were well known around the world as the Pierce Brothers. With the exception of a few assignments, Lynn was Wayne's replacement. They each served as Post Food Advisor at Fort Sill numerous times through the years. Lynn served in Germany; Vicenza, Italy;  Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; 2 tours in Vietnam, the Canal Zone, Panama, and Fort Rucker, Alabama. While in the Canal Zone, Lynn was over all food service in Central and South America. His final duty station was Post Food Advisor at Fort Sill. Lynn and Wayne retired from the Army together in 1979 at Fort Sill. They were told that there was talk that there was consideration to add CW05 to the ranking system, and they would attain that rank if it materialized. However, the Vietnam Conflict was winding down and the rank of CWO5 did not materialize until Dessert Storm.

After his military retirement, Lynn took a year off and attended Cameron, majoring in Criminal Justice. He was contacted and asked to return to Fort Sill as a Civil Servant in the capacity of Post Food Advisor, once again, and retired from that position in the early 1990's. While working in that capacity, he and his team earned number 1 accreditation in Culinary Skills, numerous times. This was a worldwide competition, and it was all branches of service. He, also, was in charge of the food service during the Fort Chaffee Cuban refugee crisis, which occurred during the Mariel boatlift in 1980 when over 19,000 Cuban refugees were detained at Fort Chaffee.

After his retirement from Civil Service, Lynn assisted his wife, Dona, with her jewelry business, repairing watches and jewelry. He continued Dona's jewelry business for a short time after her death and retired for good. He spent many hours on the lake fishing with his dear friend, Marion Holland, and visited his brother almost daily. He enjoyed working in his yard, watching westerns, going to thrift stores, auctions, and antiquing. He was very giving and took care of the widows who lived on both sides of him. He was proud to be a Christian and of his military service! Lynn was a family man, a great husband, father, Papa, son and son-in-law. He was our rock!

Lynn met the love of his life, Dona Harmon, on a blind date, in Chickasha. They were married in the home of Dona's parents, Curns and Lillian (Williams) Harmon on May 1st, 1956. Their marriage lasted until Dona's death, just 1 week and 3 days short of their 40th anniversary. He was not interested in dating or remarrying after her death. Instead, he devoted his time to his daughters and grandchildren.

Lynn was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, Dona's parents, his brothers, his brother-in-law, Ricky Lynn Harmon, and his sister-in-law, Maxine (Cantrell) Pierce.

He is survived by his daughters: Rhonda O'Malley (Mike), Sheila Harder (David), and Michelle Campbell (Rick); 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces, 1 nephew and many relatives and friends.

Lynn's family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Daddy's caregivers, CNAs, CMAs, and nurses on Red Wing at the Lawton Veterans Center, who gave him exceptional care, kindness and love. They are like family to us!  We are, also, grateful for our dear family friends, Barbara Baker and Tana Baggett, who sat with Lynn, supporting and loving on him, in addition to his daughters' regular visits. Thank you to Chaplain Randy Bolton, the kitchen staff, recreation team, janitorial staff and laundry workers. Finally, we are thankful for the outstanding, professional, caring workers at Complete Hospice, who cared for Lynn during the last 4 days of his life.
