Age 83, Fletcher - Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Monday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Lawton. Mr. Saunders died Tuesday in Fletcher. Burial with full military honors will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Lawton. He was born February 12, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur Thomas and Minnie Mary (Cook) Saunders. He married Marthella J. (Martye) West on April 3, 1947 at the Old Post Chapel at Fort Sill. She died June 27, 1991. He married Mary J. Pace on August 2, 1993 in Lawton. Mr. Saunders retired from the Army after twenty four years of service which included World War II, Korea and Vietnam. His decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal. After retirement from the service he had been employed by Security Bank & Trust Company and Citizens Bank as a real estate loan officer. He was a past president of the Lawton Homebuilders Association, a member of the Lawton Chamber of Commerce Redcoat Ambassadors, the German/American Club and the Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife, of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard A. and Christina Saunders, Napa, California and David F. and Stephanie Saunders, Bedford, Texas, a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Sean Harrigan, Frederick, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, parents and a son, Johnny T. Lamb.
