Funeral service for Curtis R. Calhoun, 78, Indiahoma, will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Lawton, with Rev. Leonard Reimer, Chaplain, Promise Care Hospice, officiating Mr. Calhoun died Saturday, November 17 at his home. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Indiahoma, under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Curtis was born April 20, 1934 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Roy and Addie (Jeffers) Calhoun. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School with the class of 1953. After his graduation he traveled around the country while working on the pipeline. He married Reba Pitts on January 30, 1954 in Wichita Falls. He was employed by Bailey-Meissner for thirty two years and then Goodyear Tire and Rubber for ten years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, camping and playing Skip-Bo. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Danny Calhoun and his companion Christa Lindsey, Meers, and Ronny Calhoun, Lawton; two daughters and their husbands, Janice and Don Heaton, Shady Dale, Georgia, and Connie and Fred Leighty, Moore, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Gary Heaton, Kenny Heaton, Tracie Zeller, Jamie Glover, Kristen Foss, Amber Leighty and Ashley Leighty; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Stewart, Richland Hills, Texas; former daughter in law, Terri Calhoun; caretaker, Marla Dodd; special companion, Brandy Lee; special friend, Eddie Pope; and many relatives and friends.
