Bo was born April 8, 1928 in Alfalfa, Oklahoma, the only son of James Orville and Laura Grace (Nelson) McBride.  Bo grew up on the farm in Alfalfa and loved to fish and play sports, especially basketball and baseball.  He once took a baseball directly to the face and ended up with a broken nose.  He attended Alfalfa Schools for all twelve years.  After high school he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.  One year later he married Nelda Ruth Whitley on September 28, 1947 in Bethany, OK.  Bo and Nelda both went on to earn Bachelor's Degrees from Southwestern.  He was teaching and serving as principal in Colony, OK and on one occasion had to evacuate the school before the town was hit by a large tornado.  Soon after, Bo was drafted into the US Army and served as a sergeant for two years during the Korean War.  After his discharge from the Army, he took a job in Amarillo, TX teaching at the Air Force Base.  While in Amarillo he earned his Masters Degree from West Texas State.  He was then hired on at Fort Sill as an Educational Research Psychologist.  He remained with the Department of the Army for 46 years before retiring with honors.  Bo and Nelda had two sons, Ronald Craig and Shon Wylie.  Bo loved spending time with the boys playing sports, boating, traveling and remembering the fun they had together.  He and Nelda enjoyed going to Branson several times a year.  They also traveled to Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Amsterdam and went on many cruises, but his favorite trip was to Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.  Bo enjoyed watching all types of sports, but his favorite team was the Oklahoma Sooners.  He was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church.

He leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Nelda of the home, son Craig and wife Ann of Oklahoma City, son Shon and wife Becky of Tulsa, grandchildren, Matthew McBride, his wife Christina and great grandson Nathan of Tulsa, Sean McBride of Hollywood, CA, Cole McBride of Tulsa, Chace McBride of San Antonio, TX, Kelsey McBride of Tulsa and two step-grandchildren, Cullen Greer of Houston, TX and Courtney Green of Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
