Graveside service for Curtis W. Bates, 78, Snyder, will be at 2:30 pm Friday, April 26, 2013 in the Mountain Park Cemetery, Mountain Park, OK with Emmett Hayslip, Pastor of Calvary Community Church, Snyder officiating. Curtis died Monday, April 22, 2013 in Snyder. Burial will be in the Mountain Park Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder. *** The family will greet friends Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home *** Curtis was born January 9, 1935 in Pottsboro, TX to Pink Curtis and Annie Bell (Farmer) Bates. He married Linda Sue Clark on August 8, 1958 in Durant, OK. He worked at Dallas Air Motor in Frederick, OK for ten years, operated the Dairyland in Snyder for three years, and he and Linda ran the Mountain Park Café for over 14 years until his retirement. He loved his cat Larry very much. Survivors include his wife Linda of the home, his children, Curtis Wayne Bates and wife Carla of Snyder, OK, Linda Dyann Bates Stanley and husband Randy of Kingston, OK, Dale Bates and wife Shellie of Summerton, SC, grandchildren, Roy Curtis Sweeden and wife Desi of Madill, OK, Michael Sweeden of Tulsa, OK, Tyler and Collyn Bates of Summerton, SC, Kassie Bates of Snyder, great grandchildren, Dylan Frazier of Lawton, OK, Kaylee and Curtis Sweeden of Madill, OK, a brother Jeff Bates of Frederick, OK and many nieces and nephews. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dalton Bates, sister Velda Bates and granddaughter Caitlin Bates.
