Troy Lee Franklin, age 86, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the home of his youngest son in Texarkana, Texas.

Troy was born on February 9, 1939, in Pickett County, Tennessee. At just 17 years old, with his mother's written permission, he joined the United States Army in 1957. While stationed in Germany in 1959, he met the love of his life, Rosemarie Arand. They married in 1960 and spent over six decades together, raising three sons and building a life rooted in love, service, and family.

Throughout his distinguished 30-year military career, Troy served in Vietnam, Korea, and spent over a decade in Germany. He retired at Fort Sill with the rank of Command Sergeant Major. His service was recognized with numerous honors, including three Bronze Stars and the Legion of Merit.

Troy cherished time with his family, enjoying the outdoors, working on cars, and traveling with Rosemarie. A man of principle, he lived by the words: "Loyalty above all else." He was a proud Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite, always giving back to the communities he called home.

He is survived by his three sons: Michael and wife Kathy of Cookeville, Tennessee; Ricky and wife Anne of Mt. Holly Springs, Pennsylvania; and Timothy and wife Tonya of Texarkana, Texas. 12 grandchildren, Shawna Cullom, Kacie Franklin, Chris Ealey, Kelli Ealey-Autrey, Selena Weddle, Chelsea Franklin, Kayla Franklin, Timothy Franklin JR, Alexis Brown, Autumn Ashmore, Anna Franklin, and Travis Franklin, many great-grandchildren, and his half-sister Cindy Warden of Alpine, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemarie; his parents, Odis Franklin and Hazel (Hoover) Franklin-Sims; his brother Roy Dee Franklin; and his sister Lola Stephens.

To those who knew him, Troy was more than a soldier-he was a devoted husband, a steady father, a proud grandfather (Opa), and a loyal friend. His life was a testament to service, strength, and love.
