Funeral for CSM (Retired) Frank Robert Nash, 82, Lawton will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dean Thompson, pastor and Rev. Don Zickefoose, associate pastor of Brockland Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Sergeant Major Nash died Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Lawton. Burial with full military honors will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. He was born January 8, 1930 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Frank and Edith M. (Ring) Nash. He married Genevieve Cook and later married Dora D. Roberts on December 6, 1951 at Fort Benning, Georgia. Sergeant Major Nash served one tour of duty in Korea and two tours in Vietnam, all during combat. His medals and decorations include the Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters Good Conduct Medal, 6th Award, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and the Vietnam Service Medal. He retired on December 9, 1974 after twenty seven years of service. He was a member of Brockland Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving and caring husband and father. Survivors include his wife, of the home, five children, Paul Andrew Nash, Frank Allen Nash, Kathryn A. Sadler and her husband, Garnett, I, Rodney A. Nash and his wife Diana and Robert A. Nash, Sr., all of Lawton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael Nash, Michele Nash, Garnett Sadler, II, Holly Bergstrom, Bobby Nash, Sherri Nash and Vanessa McCool and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
