Graveside service for CPT Richard Arthur Jones will be at 10:00 am Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK with Joe Jones, Pastor of Mt. Zion Christian Church, Broxton, OK officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. The family will greet friends Sunday afternoon, September 27, 2015 from 4pm until 6pm at the funeral home. Richard Arthur Jones, age 70, Cache, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home in Cache. He was born September 12, 1945 in Mansfield, OH to Arch R. and Grace Elizabeth Jones. He and his family followed his father's Sears management career through Ohio, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Pennsylvania again before settling in Norristown, PA in time for Richard to attend Stewart Junior High School. He graduated from Norristown Sr. High in 1963 and then went to West Point Military Academy where he graduated in 1967. He earned a Master's Degree in Engineering at Stanford University and then taught Thermodynamics at West Point for 3 years. He served his nation proudly for 11 years. While recovering from cancer the first time he earned an accounting degree at Cameron University and became a CPA where he befriended and served his clients in Lawton and around the world. His greatest love was serving the Lord Jesus Christ and helping others understand God's message in the Bible. He loved to study the Bible and teach Sunday school. His overwhelming kindness and generosity, his acceptance and forgiveness very clearly showed the love of God to those around him. While health permitted, he enjoyed SCUBA diving with his children. He was a talented woodworker, with his pride being the stairway of his home, made of his favorite, Red Oak. His place of refuge was his mountain cabin at Baylor's Lake in Fleetville, PA with his cousin Raymond Ardan. His second love was his family. His beloved wife of 48 years, Sally R. Jones of Cache, OK, and his children; David M. and wife Greta of Temple, TX, Rebecca Sue and husband Christopher S. Howard of Mansfield, TX, Peter A. of Cache, OK, and Stephen R. and wife Cheryll of Iowa Park, TX. His joy always were his 11 grandchildren; Colin, Megan, Peter, Riley, Ryan, Ashley, Kelsey, Emily, Elise, Sarah and Nathan.
