Clay Peregrine "Peri" Grover passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 84. A resident of Lawton for well over 40 years, she was born April 9, 1940 to Felix and Muriel (Greenhalge) Mantell in Olympia, Washington.
No services are scheduled.
Peri's father traveled the world as the director of the Armed Services YMCA, dedicated to supporting the troops, and Peri proudly followed in his footsteps. She devoted her career to serving the military as a registered nurse in Civil Service. Her work took her across the globe, including Korea, Germany, and Hawaii, before she eventually settled in Lawton, where she completed her nursing career at Comanche County Memorial Hospital (CCMH).
Peri is survived by her two children, Darrin Michael Grover and Elizabeth Day, as well as her sister, Debbie Cox, and brother, John Mantell.
Affectionately known as "GG" by her family, Peri was a beacon of love and kindness. She had a remarkable ability to see the best in people and spread positivity wherever she went. Her peaceful spirit brought comfort to those around her, and her presence felt like a warm embrace on a cold day. Peri leaves behind a legacy of compassion and grace, and her memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.
