Memorial service for Claud E. Blackburn, 69, Fletcher, will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 12 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Fletcher Chapel with Pastor Billy Harmon of the Arena Cowboy Church, officiating. Mr. Blackburn died Thursday, November 6, in a Lawton hospital. Claud was born December 28, 1944 in Oklahoma City to Lyn and Eva (Setzer) Blackburn. He graduated from Cyril High School. He then joined the Naval Reserves. After his service he joined the Lawton Fire Department for fifteen years, and drove a truck on his off days. Driving a truck was his passion. He married Gaylen Lawson on December 19, 1981 in Lawton. Claud got into concrete statuary and making bird baths. He loved working with his hands. He loved his family, was very proud of his children, and would do anything for them. Now Claud is with Jesus, without pain or worries. He will be sorely missed, but he is with us in our hearts and minds. We'll be together again some day. Fly high "Importer". Survivors include his wife, Gaylen of the home; a daughter, Tabitha and husband Jon Sullivan, Ninnekah; 3 sons, Chris and wife Laura Blackburn, Bremerton, Washington, Joe and wife Mary Blackburn, St. Augustine, Florida, and Claude Blackburn, Lawton; two grandchildren, Kailey Blackburn and Zaelie Blackburn; a sister, Linda and husband DeLoy Misel, Lawton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
