Clarence E. McKillip, 72, Cache, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Lawton. He was born December 2, 1945 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He proudly served in the US Army from January 1966 until January 1969. This included a tour in Vietnam. He then dedicated 30 years to teaching and coaching in towns including: Paoli, Oklahoma, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Grove, Oklahoma, Lawton High School and Lawton Eisenhower, where he successfully coached the defense to the 1990 State and National Championship. Without ever wavering in his love, he taught many young men the importance of patience while also teaching them to love deeply, work passionately and always finish what they started. He married his wife of 25 years, Barbara J. Sellers on May 27, 1993 in Wichita Falls, Texas. His greatest achievement was being a Papaw to his 7 grandchildren. His love for each grandchild was without a doubt unconditional. Each one held a special place in his heart, teaching the boys to be men and the girls to be tough. There was not an event from little league to college that he was not present. Papaw is loved and will be dearly missed by them.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home, children Kevin Crutchmer and his wife Tina of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Amy Crutchmer Washington of Lawton, grandchildren, Kyle Crutchmer of San Jose, California, Brian Crutchmer of San Jose, California, Michael Washington at University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma, Kayla Crutchmer at the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, Arkansas, McKenzie Washington of Lawton, Myka Washington of Cache, Oklahoma and Justin Crutchmer of Hot Springs, Arkansas. He is also survived by his sister Deloras Robertson of Burleson, Texas, and three brothers, Bill Butler of Wewoka, Oklahoma, John Elmo Butler of Grove, Oklahoma and Gene Butler of Grove, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his mother Marie McKillip, his first wife Phyllis Kay McKillip, the couple who raised him soon after his mothers passing, Rev. John E. and Clara Mae Butler and his brother Richard Ross.
