Clara Lee (Harris) Way, age 89 died at her home in Florida on Thursday, January 7, 2016. Clara was born in Indiahoma on Sept. 20, 1926 to William Walker and Mary Harris. The family moved to Lawton in 1942 and Clara graduated from Lawton High School.

She retired after thirty years of service to the Farm Services Agency. She was a faithful and active member of Central Baptist Church and volunteered at McMahon Tomlinson Nursing Center.   Her friends and family members loved her toll house cookies and residents of the nursing center referred to her as "the cookie lady".

She joined First Baptist Church of Winter Haven after moving to Florida in 2010 to be closer to her daughter and grand-children. Her volunteering spirit continued at First Baptist where she was secretary of her Sunday school class and participated in the sewing group.

Survivors of the home in Florida are daughter Cathy and son-in-law, Jerry. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Bain, Lawton.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Carl, 3 sisters, Jackie Farris, Eunice Salyer, Gladys Harris and brother, Ray.

Clara just commented she had the best Christmas of her life this past holiday and was surrounded by those she loved including her grandsons, Dustin (Jenny), Tyler (Holly) and Nolan (Natalie). She was truly happy the last weeks of her life and her family is so thankful for that joyful time.
