Christopher Glenn Hinson, 54, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 in Oklahoma City. He was born January 29, 1971 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Jimmie Nathan Hinson, III and Peggy F. (Ernce) Lindgren. Chris had a fun-loving spirit and a kind heart. He loved animals and was a friend to everyone he met. Family gatherings were some of his favorite times, and he cherished every moment spent with loved ones. Chris had a passion for race cars and motorcycles and was always ready to hop on a dirt bike and go on adventures with his brother, Jim. Known for his strength and generous nature, Chris was the kind of neighbor who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He truly lived life on his own terms, enjoying each day to the fullest with his many friends.
Much of his youth was spent playing with his brother Jim and cousins Kristy, Rob, Ricky Rae, and Pam on their grandparents' farm in the country. Together they rode bikes and horses, played with the farm animals, and spent countless nights laughing and "cutting up." They would climb the mimosa tree, play with rabbits and ducks, and go on wild rides in the back of Grandpa Reg's truck, affectionately known as the "Hoodlum Wagon."
Chris excelled in sports from a young age. In T-ball, he was the kid who could hit the ball the farthest. On the wrestling mat, he could pin his opponent with ease. In soccer, other players nicknamed him "Shotgun Sam" because of his powerful kicks. On the football field, parents appreciated how the "big guy" was always protecting their sons during the game.
At 6'2", Chris was an imposing figure to those who didn't know him-broad-shouldered and strong, with a rugged look. But beneath that exterior was a gentle soul who was quick to defend and care for animals and people in need. Those who truly knew Chris recognized his heart of gold.
Chris had a deep faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. He shared a special bond with his Uncle John, and together they attended church and encouraged each other in their walk with God.
Chris will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We take comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of God, embraced by His perfect love and care.
He was preceded in death by his father Jimmie Hinson III; step-father Carl Lindgren, Sr.; Jimmie Hinson Jr., grandfather; Dorothy Hinson, Grandmother; Hattie McClung, grandmother; Francis Ernce, grandfather; Reggie McCLung, step-grandfather; Morgan Downs Brewer, half-sister; and Pat Ernce, uncle.
He is survived by Jimmie Hinson IV, brother; Peggy Lindgren, mother; Josie Hinson, niece; his uncle and aunt Mike and Diana Hinson; his uncle and aunt John and Lisa Hinson; his aunt Rita Ernce; Kristy Berkhalter, step-sister; Carl Frank Lindgren Jr. step-brother; Carla Cargil, step-sister; Cerrie Ward, step-sister; and cousins Robert 'Rob' Ernce, Kristi Brandon, Michael Hinson Matthew Hinson, Ricky Rae Hale, and Cammie Amenson; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
