Funeral service for Cheryl Lynn Taliaferro will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 in Letitia Baptist Church with Matt Kelly, Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Letitia Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Cheryl Lynn Taliaferro, age 71, Lawton, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in Lawton.  She was born February 24, 1945 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Kenneth W. and Lottie Mae (Woolley) Hughes.  Cheryl grew up in Lawton and was a 1963 graduate of Lawton High School.  Following graduation she worked as a switchboard operator for Fort Sill National Bank.  She then began a 24 year career with Blue Cross –Blue Shield where she worked as a retention representative in Lawton.  Cheryl married Richard Taliaferro on November 1, 1980 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Cheryl had a love for cutting horses and cattle.  She also raised chickens and was awarded Grand Champion at the Comanche County Free Fair.  She was a member of Letitia Baptist Church and the Breast Cancer Recovery and Support Group.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; children and spouses, Dr. Shawna McCune, Vonda and Jerry Williams and Kimi and Dr. Larry Chambers; four grandchildren, Johnathon Loera and wife Kaeli, Alexandria Loera, Deekota Williams and Maverick Williams; two brothers and sisters in law, Scotty and Candace Hughes and Dennis and Lyn Hughes, and she was Aunt Sis to many nieces and nephews.

Her parents and a son, Tracey Taliaferro, preceded her in death.
