Cheri Marlene Hodek (nee Vaughn) passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the age of 74. Cheri was born in Cleburne, Texas on March 21, 1950, to Alvin "Pete" Vaughn and Mildred (Holmes).
She married James "Jim" Hodek, a soldier in the US Army, on July 4, 1975, in Cleburne, Texas and settled near Marlow, Oklahoma after his retirement in 1997 as a First Sergeant.

Cheri is preceded in death by Jim, who passed in June of last year, and her parents.

She is survived by her children: Kara Hodek of Lawton, Oklahoma, Staff Sergeant (Retired) John and wife Tammy Hodek of Elk Grove, California, Corporal (Retired) Michael and wife Ann Hodek of Biloxi, Mississippi, and Captain (Retired) Eric and wife Deanna Hodek of Firestone, Colorado; grandchildren: Randall Drake, Jeffrey Drake, Kalyn Hinson, James Hodek, Ryan Hodek, Amanda Hodek, Brett Sprouse, Christina Sprouse, Nicole Hodek, and Jacob Hodek; 9 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Richard Vaughn, Tommy Vaughn, and Floyd Vaughn.
Services will be held at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
