Age 80, Lawton - A private funeral service was held at 4:00 PM Friday, June 20, 2008 in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Forrest L. Keener, Oklahoma City, officiating. Mrs. Tubbs died Thursday, June 19, 2008 in Geronimo. Entombment was in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. She was born on January 14, 1928 in Salem, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Nannie E. and Harry L. Butler of Norfolk, Virginia. She met her husband, Earl Wayne Tubbs in Norfolk, Virginia while he was serving in the US Navy. They were married on November 29, 1947 in Littlefield, Texas. Mr. Tubbs passed away on April 12, 1990. Charlotte was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Keaveney and Mike; three grandchildren, Wayne Sterkel and his wife, Nancy, Melissa Roselle, and Heather Woods and her husband, Ryan; seven great grandchildren, Destiny, Cody, Caitlin, Tanner, Seth, Mason and Ashlee; two sisters, Ellen Currier of Manchester, New Hampshire and Francis Malloy of Norfolk, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Mary Zecca, and a brother, Lawrence Butler.
