Word has been received of the death of Charlotte C. Gritis, 88, Lawton. Mrs. Gritis died Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born March 12, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Minnie (Gehring) Preiffer. She married Walter Alex Gritis on August 24, 1946 in Chicago. He died November 14, 2005. Mrs. Gritis managed Marion's Ceramic Supply in Tucson, Arizona for many years. She moved to Lawton in 2002. She was a passionate watercolor artist. Mrs. Gritis was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte C. and Eric Mortensen, M.D., Lawton, a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Nancy (Amy) Gritis, Tucson, Arizona and six grandchildren.
