Obituary

Age 77, Lawton - Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Letitia Baptist Church, east of Lawton, with Rev. Dan Palesano officiating. Mr. Bardsher died Monday in a Lawton hospital. Burial will be in the Letitia Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. He was born June 9, 1932 in Stephens County to Henry and Gladys (Snyder) Bardsher. He graduated from Empire High School in 1950. He married Sandra Fleming on August 9, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He made his livelihood in the cattle industry and was a lifetime rancher and cattleman. He was co-owner and investor of the Lawton Stock Yards and various other livestock auctions in Oklahoma. He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattleman's Association. He attended First Assembly of God in Lawton. Charlie was a real cowboy. We are blessed and have had a great privilege to know and love him. He has been our mentor, confidant, teacher and counselor. Sharing his life and cowboy ways with friends and family has its price. There is a price that comes with the joy and peace, a price for the laughter shared between hearts and spirits, a price of feeling trust and that trust cradles those who had a relationship with Charles Bardsher. The price is the large empty space that remains when a cowboy rides away. He is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, Charles (Chuck) Bardsher, Dallas, and Garold Ray Bardsher, Lawton; two step daughters, Terri Snider and her husband Lonnie, and Tammi McGlothlin, all of Lawton; four grandsons, Russell Bardsher and C.W. Bardsher, both of Central High, Oklahoma, and Dustin Goodner, Lawton, and Cole Price, Coffeyville, Kansas; two granddaughters, Andrea Godwin, Chattanooga, Oklahoma, and Julie Q. McGlothlin, Oklahoma City; eight great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters in law, Wayne and Janie Bardsher, Duncan, and Carl and Doris Bardsher, Lawton; three sisters and brothers in law, Jacky Jennings, Duncan, Jessica and Ronnie Austin, Ringling, Oklahoma, and Terrie and Paul Thrasher, Sterling. His parents and a sister, Venita Morgan, preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of SW Oklahoma, P.O. Box 2074, Lawton OK 73502 or to the First Assembly of God Youth Building Fund, P.O. Box 6485, Lawton OK 73506. The family will greet friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
