Funeral service for Charles Edgar Fatum will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2016, in Boulevard Congregational & Christian Church with Dr. Ralph Alexander, Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Charles Edgar Fatum, age 81, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016, in Lawton. He was born October 24, 1934 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Jack B. and Henrietta P. (Miller) Fatum. Charles moved to Lawton as a boy and was a 1953 graduate of Lawton High School. He married Ann Preisch on June 2, 1967 in Lawton.

Charles worked at Townes Men's Store in Lawton from 1952 to 1985, serving in the U.S. Army for two years from 1957 -1959. He then worked for New York Life from 1985-1990 and with United Insurance Company from 1990 until his retirement.

Charles had been a member of Boulevard Congregational & Christian Church since 1967. Through the years he had been very active in the Lawton Community having been a member of the Northwest Kiwanis Club, the Knife and Fork Club, the Lawton Jaycees, Cameron Campus Ministries where served as vice chairman, the Center for Creative Living Board and Mobile Meals. Charles was honored with the "Legend of Honor" award for 40 years of membership with Kiwanis and was recognized as a "Modern Day Saint" with Cameron Campus Ministries. One of his favorite activities was attending his "Coffee Group" with his LHS Class of 1953 classmates.

He is survived by his wife Ann; a daughter and son in law, Becky and Michael McGhee, Perry, Oklahoma; a granddaughter, Megan McGhee; and a grandson, Christopher McGhee.

His parents preceded him in death.
