Charles O. "Chuck" Enix passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at his home in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. He was born on April 9, 1941, in Packard, Kentucky, to William and Ruby (Creekmore) Enix. Chuck grew up in Akron and completed his high school education there. On November 1, 1964, he married Carol Kleiber in Akron.
Chuck embarked on a remarkable 41-year career with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, starting on June 15, 1962. He made a significant move to Lawton, Oklahoma, in 1977, where he worked as a maintenance instructor, playing a crucial role in training Goodyear employees before the plant's inauguration in 1979. Chuck dedicated his efforts to the company and eventually retired as an Industrial Engineer from the plant on June 9, 2003.
He was a long-time member of Cameron Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and the director of the Senior Adult Sunday School Department. He was an incredible man who loved God and his family so fiercely and he made sure everyone knew it. Throughout his life, he enjoyed visiting and fellowshipping with others and had a passion for preaching God's word. Chuck's life was a testament to love, service and dedication. He gave all his time to the Lord and his family. While we mourn his passing, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on this Earth and cherish all the memories of a life well-lived.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lisa Enix; five grandchildren and their spouses, Amber Ambrose (Tyler), Kim Nix (Rondal), Jenny Bruce (Landon), Dr. Amanda Alexander and Blake Jackiewicz (Alisha); 11 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Mallory, Breanna, Wyatt, Whitlee, Westyn, Lexie, Lucy, Tucker, Korbin and Charli; a great great grandson, Walker; his brother and sister-in-law, Dennis Dale Enix (Janie); two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rose Yoxthimer and Betty Bush (Jerry); as well as several nieces and nephews.
