Cecil Lettie Philley, 97 years of age, was born on June 27th, 1914, in Mountain View, Oklahoma to Wallace Oren and Mattie R (Bishop) Philley. She attended school in Hollis, Oklahoma and moved to Lawton in 1932 to live and work in the home of Ted and Edl Warkentin as a traditional nanny to care for their children: Jack Edward Warkentin, of Grand Junction, Colorado, James Thomas Warkentin of Orange Beach, Alabama, and Judith Edl Warkentin Bryan, Lawton, Oklahoma. Cecil resided in the family home to see Judy through high school after Ted and Edl Warkentin passed away when Judy was 15. Cecil was a graduate of the Cliff Mann Floral School in Denver, Colorado, and was a certified floral designer and Flower Shop Manager. With her degree, she worked at J. Wiley Richardson's and then settled in for a long-term position as a designer at Flowers By Ramon. She set up her own home in 1962 where she hosted many traditional holiday celebrations for her Lawton family and dearly loved adopted grandchildren. She transformed every occasion into storied memories to reflect upon and relate to all with untiring enthusiasm. Cecil developed loving friendships with Ramon John, owner of Flowers by Ramon, the John family, Royce Crosby, associate designer and many other associates throughout her years of service. She retired at the age of 89 to enjoy family and her adopted grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her mid 90's she moved to the Village on Lee where she lived until her death. Survivors and special friends include her extended Warkentin family, James and Carmen Warkentin, Jack Warkentin, Jack and Judith Bryan, Dr. Scott and Paige Michener, Sam and Erin Bryan Martin, Steve and Keri Bolinger, Ted and Rebecca Warkentin, her surviving sister, Ethel Luker of Amarillo, Tx, O'Neal Philley, a sister-in-law, many nieces and nephews and a good friend, Rita Beauchamp, of Lawton.
