Carolyn Kay Hansen, 67, Lawton passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at her home.  She was born June 17, 1954 in Salinas, California to Ernst (Jack) and Betty Jean Keplinger- Hansen.  Her family moved to Oklahoma in 1957 where she was raised and attended school.  She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1972.  Carol received her LPN degree from Great Plains Vo-Tech in Lawton and worked in the medical field at Comanche County Memorial Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, and several nursing homes and assisted living homes in the Lawton area.  Carol always loved helping others and anyone in need.  Anyone that knew her was touched by her kindness and heart of giving.  She never met a stranger and would talk to anyone and loved sharing her love of the Lord.  Carol had a love for animals and especially for her fur babies.  She loved reading books, history, traveling, watching old movies, and working on genealogy for her family and many others.  Carol was a beloved member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She had attended first ward, and the last few years she attended second ward in Lawton.  Carol was baptized on September 8, 1993.  She was called and accepted in many callings including Relief Society, Girls Camp Nurse, etc.  She was mostly known for her calling in the Family History Center as a consultant and assistant director.  She was constantly learning and perfecting her skills in finding her ancestors and helping others find theirs.  She brought sunshine and love to everyone that she encountered.  Carol resided in Lawton, Chickasha, Rush Springs, and Gray, Louisiana before returning home to Lawton and retiring due to health.  She loved her church, church family, and her nieces and nephews.  She would give to anyone in need.

She is survived by a loving family, her sisters Ruth Hollingsworth and husband Allen of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, Jackie Cook and husband Harold of Baltimore, Maryland, nieces and nephews, Clayton Hollingsworth and Portia of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Adam Hollingsworth and Taylor of Marlow, Oklahoma, Wendy Morace, Jenny Holder, and J Holder, all of Louisiana, Tracey Bauer, Daniel Cook and Heather Washington of Maryland.  Special great nieces and nephew, Britton Hollingsworth and Blakely Hollingsworth of Marlow, Oklahoma, Sophia Bauer of Maryland and Cody Dufrene and David Morace of Louisiana.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Jack Hansen, Betty Keplinger-Hansen, grandparents EA Hansen, Dagmar Hansen, Lotta Keplinger-Potts and a sister Donna Jean Holder.

Carol will be missed by family, friends, and her church family.  We take much comfort in knowing she is at peace and in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.  We will see her and meet with her again.
