Graveside service for Carl L. Underhill, 68, Elgin, will be 2:00 pm Monday at the Elgin Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Rodney Campbell, Pastor, officiating. Mr. Underhill died Friday in Lawton. Burial will be under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Fletcher (Formerly Robbins Funeral Home). Carl was born in Non, Oklahoma on May 21, 1942 to Melvin Keith and Willie Edna (Brents) Underhill. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He attended school of technology to receive training as an electrician. He married Doris L. Holt in Needmore, Texas on August 5, 1965. Carl served on the Elgin Board of Trustees where he was Chairman of the Board from April 1985 until June 1989. Carl retired from AEP-PSO where he worked as a Distribution Services Supervisor from 1969 until retirement in 2002. He enjoyed coaching Youth T-Ball and was a Mason. He is survived by his wife; two children: Melvin Keith Underhill and Sara M. Underhill all of home; a sister: Mary Payne, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren: Layla Terry and Leland Terry ; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
