It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cacilia Scott, 86, of Lawton, OK. She passed away on August 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Cacilia was born on October 3, 1938, in Iphofen, Germany, to Josef and Mathilde Denninger.

Cacilia had a deep passion for many things in life, most importantly her family, her faith, and helping those in need. Growing up, she could often be found volunteering in her hometown or at church alongside her beloved Oma. Cacilia earned her degree in accounting and immediately after graduation began working for Knauf Gips KG, where she served as an accountant for a multinational company that started in her hometown.

In 1960, Cacilia married Milford "Scotty" Scott, and in 1972, they moved to the United States to begin a new chapter together. Two years later, she started working as a meat wrapper at Lawton Meat Processing. Through determination and hard work, she became the sole owner of the business in 1987-making her one of the first female business owners in the state. Cacilia ran the shop with pride for decades, serving generations of farmers and hunters until its closure in 2020. To her, customers were never just clients-they became extended family. When she wasn't at the shop, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and attending church.

Cacilia was preceded in death by her parents, Josef and Mathilde Denninger; her husband, Milford Scott; her daughter, Monica Scott; and her granddaughter, Taylor Scott.

She is survived by her children, Herbert Scott, Teresa Sellers, Joe Scott and his spouse Janna; her five grandchildren, Chad, Camron (Cara), Dakota (Shellie), Meagan (Brandon), and Madison; as well as 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom cherished her deeply.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to local FFA organizations or to Catholic Charities.
