Obituary

Memorial service for Brian Allen Carpenter will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2026, at First United Methodist Church, Sayre, Oklahoma with Rev. Adam Brinson officiating.

Brian Allen Carpenter was born September 5, 1976, at Altus Air Force Base, Altus, Oklahoma to Ralph and Anna Carpenter and went to his heavenly home Friday, April 17, 2026, after a long battle with non-alcoholic liver disease.

Brian began his educational career by being a graduating member of the 1995 Blair High School Broncs.  He was a double graduate of Southwest Technology Center in 1994 and 1996 respectively and was a graduate of Western Oklahoma State College in 2001.  In true Pioneer fashion he brought his technology expertise to work for Western Oklahoma State College for over 25 years until health reasons forced him to leave his profession.

On October 20, 2011, Brian married the love of his life, Kimberly Kay Major, at the Hobart Courthouse in front of a host of family and close friends.

Brian's leisure enjoyment consisted of playing a variety of games with family and friends. In fact, there was rarely a game in which Brian could be bested.  He loved being in the kitchen and prided himself on being an amateur chef.  Truth be known, he always dreamed of owning and operating a food truck.  Brian was also known for being a colossal sci-fi enthusiast.  Many who knew him can attest to hearing him say, "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter."

Brian's legacy of humor, perseverance, and dedication will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to know him.  His life will forever be an inspiration and a testament to the power of an indomitable spirit intertwined with a strong devotion to his family, along with his resilience, and quick intellect.

Brian is survived by his wife, Kim Carpenter: his five children, Jessica Carpenter, Kiara Carpenter, Joseph Gage Edward Carpenter, Ethan Brian Michael Carpenter, and Jacob Allen Buddy Carpenter; his parents, Ralph and Anna Carpenter; sister, Jennifer Anderson and husband Chance; brother, James Carpenter as well as eleven nieces and nephews, many other family members, and countless friends.

Brian was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and knew his Lord and Savior.
