Graveside funeral service for Brenda V. Sulivant will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025 in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Brenda V. Sulivant died Tuesday, December 24, 2024 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 86.  She was born October 13, 1938 in Seattle, Washington to Fred Arthur and Helen Vennette (Olson) Dewar.  She was a 1956 graduate of Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington.  In 1958, she married Harry Neal Harper and together they had two sons, Frederick David Harper in 1959 and Robert Dale Harper in 1966.  She later married Leo D. Sulivant on September 13, 1989.  He preceded her in death in 2013.

Brenda worked as a stenographer for the United States Army Field Artillery Board from 1977-1980.  In 1981 she accepted a job with the U.S. Postal Service and worked there until her retirement in 1996 at which time she held the position of Postmaster.  She had worked as a civil servant for both the Army and the Air Force.

Brenda was a devoted mother, wife and sister.  She accepted Christ as her savior in August of 2015 at First Baptist East in Lawton, Oklahoma.  She was currently a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Lori Harper of Valrico, Florida, and Rob and Raleah Harper of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Matthew Harper, Temple Terrace, Florida, Lauren Harper, Denver, Colorado, Hannah Winkler and husband Brandon, Amber-Pocasset, Oklahoma and Joshua Harper and wife Haleigh, Oklahoma City; great grandchildren, Gavin Winkler, Arya Winkler and Micah Harper; three sisters, Bea Sweeney, Seattle, Washington, Betsy Booth, Lacey, Washington, and Kathy Tyner, Toledo, Washington.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Harris and Barbara McNellis.
