Age 46, Lawton - Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at First Baptist East with Rev. Doug Passmore, Pastor, officiating. Mr. Shortt died Wednesday in a local hospital. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 pm. He was born August 25, 1962 in Marion, Virginia to Bobby Wayne, Sr. and Nancy (Anderson) Shortt. He was a 1981 graduate of Eisenhower High School in Lawton. He was employed for a time at Herb's Discount Foods after high school. He worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 24 years and was presently employed as a tire builder. He married Cheryl M. Putney in Lawton on May 11, 1991. Survivors include his wife of the home; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Lucas Shortt of the home and Bobby Shortt, III and Ashley of Walters; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Gary Griffin of Walters; 3 grandchildren, Crue Shortt, Kaden Griffin and Creed Shortt; 3 step grandchildren, Eric, Anthony and Dakota Griffin; his mother and stepfather, Nancy and Jim Caswell of Lawton; a sister, Leila Locke of Lawton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jimmy Shortt, and Anthony Shortt and Tonya, all of Lawton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
