Bobby L. "Pete" Bryant was born three miles east of Carnegie, Oklahoma on November 13, 1929.  He was the seventh of ten children born to George Washington and Bob Malisia (Kelly) Bryant and, after a brief illness, entered eternal rest on July 3, 2019 at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 20 days.

Bob attended Cedar Dale Country School near his childhood home on the Washita River in Caddo County, Oklahoma, and then graduated from Carnegie High School in 1947. Upon high school graduation, he briefly tried his hand at farming, attended college, and subsequently obtained employment at an aircraft manufacturing plant in Kansas. Bob proudly served his country by joining the U.S. Army, achieved the rank of Master Sergeant, and ultimately retired honorably from the Army Reserves in 1989.  In 1956, he married Helga Namockel of Berlin, Germany making their home in Lawton, OK and to this union three children were born.  Bob spent most of his adult life in retail management and absolutely loved visiting with people and waiting on his customers.  He employed all of his immediate family members and many nephews and nieces in his stores. Bob captured his love of family by cataloging the Bryant Family genealogy which became his lifelong obsession.

Bob is survived by his wife, Helga Bryant, of the home in San Marcos, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie June and Lynn Richardson, of Mountain View, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lysa Bryant, of McKinney, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Robert Parker, of San Mateo, California; son, Martin Bryant, of New York, New York; brother, Roy W. Bryant, of Lawton, Oklahoma; sister, Sue Bryant Jones, of Carnegie, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Christine Bryant of Lawton, OK and Shirley Bryant of Carnegie, OK; grandchildren: Bobbie Lynn Hanes, Thomas Richardson, Colby Bryant, Lindsay Kelly, Hayden Bryant, Ryan Parker, Mikensi Bryant; great-grandchildren:: Meagan Lankford, Rowdy Hanes and Carissa Hanes; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Lynn Bryant, his parents, four brothers: Ernest, Bill, George, and Ellis (Gus); and three sisters: Rebecca Barker, Gertrude Henneke, and Oleta Patterson Wallis.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions be made to charities of your choice.
