Graveside service for Billye Ann (Strain) Mathis, 79, Lawton, will be 2:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Fort Sill National Cemetery with Rev. Jim McGuire officiating. Mrs. Mathis died Monday, January 28, 2013 in a local hospital. Burial will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Billye was born April 19, 1933 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to William and Lennie (Rogers) Strain. She married CW4 (Retired) Billy R. Mathis on June 1, 1951 in Burkburnett, Texas. He died December 12, 2010. She was a military wife who enjoyed coaching and tutoring young Army wives. Billye was a loving mother, dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Belinda Reed and husband Walter Warner, Lawton; two sons, Michael Ray Mathis, Petersburg, Virginia, Mark Mathis and wife Brenda, Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren, Patrick, Alicia, Jackie, Michael Jr., James, Megan, Miranda and Alyssa; and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews too numerous to mention.
