Obituary

Reverend Billy Joe Bone was born on July 21, 1933, and went to heaven on August 6, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Nancy Bone, 12 brothers and sisters, daughter Lorrie Ann, son in law Jim Nisbett, and loving wife Lou Ella.

Billy and Lou were married for 71 glorious years. Each day together was a gift from God. Holding hands, soft kisses, many hugs, and countless "I love you's" was the fairy tale marriage of Billy and Lou. Their unconditional fairy tale love was a deep, boundless affection that knew no limits or conditions. It was the kind of love where two souls connect in a way that transcends logic, appearances, or circumstances. If you look up the definition of love, Billy and Lou's name should be printed right next to it. Their love was cherished and what every boy and girl dreams of. Billy led his marriage and family with a deep sense of faith. While Billy was a strong provider, determined and intentional, he did so in a loving, gentle, and kind way.

He guided his family to always put Jesus first and to love everyone. Billy set an example for what it meant to have unwavering faith throughout life's joys and trials. He would be the first person to tell you how much Jesus loves you and what an awesome God we serve. He served the Lord, wholeheartedly, preaching at numerous nursing homes for over 50 years being obedient to 􀁎vhat God had called him to do. He not only helped establish our family's faith but he influenced countless lives and taught so many people about Jesus.

Bill and Lou have two daughters, Robin and Bill Tenis of Lawton, OK, Kim Nisbett of Lawton, OK, son Michael Tenis of Lawton, OK, and special friend Homer Ryan of Frederick, OK.

Billy was blessed with two wonderful granddaughters. Courtney and Michael Ferguson and Amanda and Earl Mack, both from Lawton, OK. Billy also had four amazing great grandchildren who were the sparkle in his eye. Kelsey (Ferguson) Miller and her husband Ridge, Kinsley (Ferguson) King, and her husband Ely, Jalen Mack, Alyssa Mack, and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. He was also blessed with two beautiful final gifts from God, his great-great granddaughter, Ella James King, and his great-great grandson, Ledger Jay Miller. They brought a special joy and love into his final chapter, leaving him with precious memories that will forever be treasured by those who loved him.

Billy lived a life filled with love and compassion. He was the cornerstone of his family, always putting others before himself and teaching everyone the true meaning of unconditional love. He had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel loved, valued, and truly special. His kind words, warm smile, and gentle, loving voice had a way of bringing comfort and joy to everyone he met. He will be remembered for the simple joys he shared with others, especially his legendary coke floats and homemade ice cream, made with love and always enjoyed in good company. He was an extraordinary prayer warrior and servant of the Lord. He was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years and then a member of Lawton First Assembly for the remainder of his life.

Above all, he cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and Pop. If Billy was standing before you today, he would want you to remember how much Jesus loves you, to spread the word, and always put Jesus first in all that you do.

Though he is no longer with us, Billy's legacy will live on. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Billy's homecoming party will be Tuesday, August 11th, 2026 at Lawton First Assembly at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and Shriner's Hospital.
