It is with great sadness we announce the death of Betty L. Gomez who died Monday, May 27, 2024 in Lawton, Oklahoma.  Betty was born September 26, 1935 in Krebs, Oklahoma to Roy L. and Mahaley L. (Perry) Mitchell.  She grew up in Lawton and was a graduate of Lawton High School.

She married SFC (Retired) David C. Gomez on May 30, 1980 in Wichita Falls, Texas.  He preceded her in death on August 6, 2012.  Betty retired from Civil Service at Fort Sill.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed many things to include her bowling leagues and walking the mall.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Steven Williams, Amber Oliver and husband Carl, Angela Bonilla and husband Mario, Diana Moore and Cynthia Holt; great grandchildren, Dylan, Kasein, Anessa, Liam and Madison.

Preceding her in death are her parents, a daughter, Gwen Holt, a son, Roy W. Williams, and a brother, Carl Mitchell.
