Graveside service for Berta Dean Wills will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Cache Cemetery, Cache, Oklahoma with Rev. Lory Fahle, Pastor, First United Methodist Church, Apache, Oklahoma, officiating.

Berta Dean Wills, of Lawton, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 83 years of age.

Berta was born on October 16, 1941, in Olustee, Oklahoma to Bert T. and Gladys G. Akers.  She graduated from Southeast High School in Wichita Kansas in May of 1960. She married Robert Wills on May 31, 1960, and from that marriage came their three children. After their marriage dissolved in 1979, Berta met and later married James Townsend in 1982. They enjoyed 43 years together, until Berta's passing.

Berta enjoyed life and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren.

Berta is survived by her husband, Jim Townsend of the home. Her children Robert and Jewel Wills both of Lawton, and her son John and his wife, Traci of Apache. She is also survived by four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild, and her sister Shirley and husband, Eddie Grantham of Jacksboro, Texas.

Berta was proceeded in death by her parents. She will be missed by her family and friends.
