Bernice Allen Inklebarger died Friday, July 26, 2024 at her residence in Lawton at the age of 98.  She was born June 25, 1926 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to Charlie and Blanche Clark.  She grew up on a farm in the Cooperton, Oklahoma area and at an early age married Troy D. Allen.  They were married on May 28, 1942 in Walters, Oklahoma. Bernice and Troy soon started their family, living in Snyder and Hobart, before relocating to Levelland, Texas during an oil boom.  They later moved to Lubbock where Bernice worked for J.C. Penney as a salesclerk in addition to being a mother to her five children.

In 1964 Bernice and Troy returned to Lawton and she worked for Cagle's Quick Stop and Herbs Grocery.  Troy preceded her in death on October 2, 1991.  She would later marry Gene Inklebarger on March 10, 2001 in Lawton.  He died August 21, 2006.

Bernice was a member of Lawton First Assembly. She enjoyed working in her yard and occasional crafting.  She had a strong work ethic and was a people person. In fact, to know her was to love her.
