Bennie was born October 13, 1938 in Corum, Oklahoma to Clifford Wilson and Bessie (Torbert) Wilson.  Bennie passed away July 14, 2019 at her home southeast of Lawton.  She graduated high school in 1956 where she played on the Comanche girls' softball team.  They went undefeated during the regular season.  She also played on the girls' basketball team.  After high school she met and married Russell John, in February 1957.  They remained married for the next 56 years until his death on June 30, 2013.  Bennie had many talents besides being her brother-in-law Ramon's right hand person at the flower shop and café for over 40 years.  Bennie drove the school bus for Flower Mound School.  For several years she was also the basketball coach.  She also helped Russell on the farm driving tractors, combines and silage trucks.  When Bennie was in her 20's and 30's she loved to hunt quail and pheasant.  She also loved to fish, play guitar, play pool and bowl.  Bennie and Russell also loved spending time in Raton, Santa Fe, and Ruidoso, New Mexico, Tunica, Mississippi and a few trips to Las Vegas..One of their favorite things to do was spend a week in Durango, Colorado visiting family.  Bennie was probably best known for her cooking.  She had a knack for it and loved to cook for her family and friends.  Bennie was the type of person who no matter what the task at hand she could get it done and make it look easy.
