Graveside funeral service for Anna T. Weese-De La Cruz will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 in Highland Cemetery with Deacon Mike Romaka, Holy Family Catholic Church officiating.
Anna T. Weese- De La Cruz was born in Germany, April 11, 1931. She passed away in Lawton, Oklahoma on January 3, 2021, at the age of 89.
She was a homemaker, and also nanny to several families. She enjoyed going to the casino, watching football, and the Game Show Network. For years, she never forwent her morning trip to McDonald's for breakfast, and had to have her "Sock-It-To-Me" cake with her coffee. She was a strong, independent, witty woman. If you wanted to see how fluidly she moved from English to German, back to English, just get her riled up: bring up the Dallas Cowboys! Let's not forget how she loved her little yard gnomes…
The most important thing to Anna, though, was her family. She looked forward to seeing and talking to them every day.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Weese, and her beloved dogs, Lucky and Snoopy.
She is survived by her four children: Lorenz Weese and wife, Joyce, Mary Bomar and husband, Bobby, of Lawton; Betty Bryan and husband, Jason, of Kempner, TX; Pedro De La Cruz and wife, Jessy, of Stamford, TX; six grandchildren: Annamarie Bomar, Ryan Means and fiancé, Ashley, Travis LaPoint, all of Lawton; Lauren Means of Oklahoma City; Kelli LaPoint of Yukon, OK, and Jeffrey DeHaven of Fairbanks, AK; four great-grandchildren: Zoe, Jaxon, Shyla, and Ryleigh, and cousins: Alois Uhlschmidt, and wife, Rosemary, their son, Stefan Uhlschmidt, of Germany, and Katie Wilson.
