Funeral service for Anna K. Sandy will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.

Private family entombment will take place on a later date in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Anna K. Sandy passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. She was born on June 9, 1934, in Czechoslovakia to Anton and Barbara Kordick.  As a child, Anna experienced the far-reaching hardships of World War II. During the war, she was relocated to Germany, where she grew up and spent her early years.

On September 22, 1961, Anna married U.S. Army Master Sergeant Duane M. Sandy in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. She accompanied Duane throughout his military career before the couple eventually settled in Lawton, Oklahoma. Duane preceded her in death on July 13, 2006.

While Anna's primary role was as a homemaker, she also took on several part-time jobs, dedicating her time to assisting elderly individuals with housekeeping tasks.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Karin Marquez; three sons, Michael Sandy, Kenneth Sandy and Steven Sandy; six grandchildren, Christine Arnold, Robert Sanders, John Sandy, Josh Sandy, Preston Sandy and Kayley Sandy; seven great grandchildren; her sisters, Hilde Wells of, Lawton, and Freida who resides in Germany.

Her parents, several siblings, and a great grandson, Billy, preceded her in death.
