Funeral service for Ann Dodson will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2024 in the Elgin Public Schools Fine Arts Center under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Ann Dodson died Friday, November 1, 2024 north of Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 65.  She was born March 14, 1959 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Guy L. and Gwendolyn (Johnson) Shull.  She was a 1977 graduate of Elgin High School and later earned her bachelor's degree from Cameron University.

Gwen worked as a physical education teacher and coach.  She taught with the Lawton Public Schools at Park Lane Elementary School where she formed "Dodson's Dribblers", a basketball performing group.  She later worked for the Elgin Public Schools coaching 4th and 5th grade basketball and track and drove a school bus for many years.  Gwen loved her family and enjoyed spending her summers at the lake.

Ann and her parents were deeply involved in the Oklahoma Hereford Association. In her younger years, she was active in the FFA Mother's Club and participated in the Oklahoma Junior Hereford Association.

She is survived by her children, Cody Dodson and wife Heather and Jean Ann Dodson, all of Elgin; grandchildren, Bayleigh Works and Tripp Dodson; her sister, Carol Cox, Lawton; special nieces, Sara Bradlau and Katie Kirby; extended family, Denise and David Demastus; and very special friends, Becky Buchanan, Karen McDonald and Carolyn Watley..

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Steve.
