Funeral service for Adam Vela will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Lawton, Oklahoma.

Adam Anthony Vela, 41, Lawton, Oklahoma passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 at his home in Lawton. He was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on August 22, 1978 to John and Beth (Bertram) Vela. Adam attended Whittier Elementary, Tomlinson Jr High, and graduated from Lawton High School in 1997. He received a Bachelor of Science in Film from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. Adam worked in the film industry before returning to his home in Lawton. He was a screen writer and a master story teller. He followed in his father and brother's footsteps sharing their passion as a percussionist specializing in drums. Adam was a sensitive soul who loved those around him to the extreme. His eloquence with words and unique sense of humor will never be forgotten.

Adam is survived by his parents John and Beth, his wife Megan and stepdaughter Amber, his sister Heather and her husband Amrid Clay, nieces Sierra, Haylee, Haydan and nephew Aidan. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jason Vela, Uncle Michael Vela, two cousins, Jamie Lynn Bonifield and Tracy D Rice.
