Age 91, Fletcher - Services will be 2:00 pm Monday at the First Baptist Church of Fletcher with Rev. Rodney Campbell, Pastor and Rev. Troy Taylor, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Verden, officiating.
Mrs. Williams died Friday at her home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 pm.
Burial will be in the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Fletcher.
She was born February 2, 1919 outside of Elgin to Wiley O. and Laura Emiline (Wilkerson) Sanders. She was saved and baptized as a teenager. She married Luther Baskum “Bud” Williams in Elgin on November 27, 1941. He died on November 24, 1994 after 53 years of marriage. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Fletcher as she taught junior girls for over 30 years. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress and grandmother with bread being her specialty. Mrs. Williams worked on Fort Sill at the Quartermaster Laundry, as a cook at the Elgin Nutrition Center, and also owned and operated a station, café and laundry in Fletcher. She was a special Christian mother who pulled cotton to buy Christmas presents for her children. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Jerry Williams of Chickasha and Mike and Julie Williams of Oklahoma City; two daughters and a son in law, Ann and Michael Beadles of Lawton and Laura Wray of Chickasha; eleven grandchildren, Jeff Williams of Norman, Randy Williams of Chickasha, Jennifer and her husband Chad Smith of Arkansas, Jeremy and his wife Kristen Beadles of Houston, Emily Beadles, Sara Beadles both of Lawton, Lindsey and her husband Mike Griffin of Arizona, Brent and his wife Andrea Wray of Chickasha, Matt and his wife Christina Wray, Lauren Wray and Bethany Wray all of Chickasha; seven great grandchildren, Taylor Williams, Karson Williams, Peyton Williams, Brianna Smith, James Bryant Griffin, Whitley Wray and Abigail Beadles; three brothers, Oscar Sanders of Rush Springs, Kenneth Sanders of Fletcher and Floyd and his wife Margaret Sanders of Elgin; two sisters, Fern Bridges and Lauretta and her husband Peachy Thomas all of Fletcher; and two sisters in law, Oleta Sanders of Elgin and Molly Sanders of Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clyde Luther Williams, a great grandson, Matthew Smith and three brothers, Henry, Chester and Clyde.
