Biography

Age 80, Snyder - Services will be at 2:00pm Friday in the Springhill Cemetery, South of Coopertonwith Darryl Perry, Indiahoma officiating.
Mr. Newton died Tuesday in a Snyder nursing home.
Burial with military honors will be in Springhill Cemetery, South of Cooperton under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Snyder.
*** Visitation will be Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm ***
He was born May 16, 1930, south of Cooperton to Joseph A. and Ida Bell (Childress) Newton. He served in the US Army Field Artillery during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. He worked for Brantley Helicopter and Aviall in Frederick and later in Wichita Falls, TX.
He is survived by his wife Ann of the home, brother Johnny Newton of Indiahoma, OK, sister Oleta Young of Tulsa, OK, nephews Paul Brower of Houston, TX, Mark Young of Tulsa, OK, Matthew Newton of Roosevelt, OK, nieces, Carol Dilley of Colorado, Linda Bartlett of Arkansas, Susan Young of Tulsa, OK, Nancy Zellers of Tulsa, OK and Debbie Newton of Lawton, OK. He was also survived by step-daughters Alicia Rasco of Snyder, OK, Betty Ward of Coral Springs, FL, Delana Martin of Oklahoma City, OK, Sheila Vanatta of Miami, OK and several grand nephews and grand nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Nita Newton, sisters Mabel Harrison, Clyda Bell Schaurer and a sister-in-law Jeanette Newton.
