Biography
Age 81, Mountain Park - Services will be at 10:00 am Thursday in the Becker Funeral Home Chapel, Snyder.
Mrs. Self died Sunday in a Lawton hospital.
Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Snyder.
She was born September 4, 1928 in Manitou, Oklahoma to James Edward and Hazel Marie (Terry) Brown. She married Leroy E. Self on September 6, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He passed away June 23, 1975. She was a homemaker, farmers helper and later went to work for Stead Manufacturing and Chicago Rawhide were she retired after fifteen years in 1999 due to health reasons. Her and her husband lived on a farm Southwest of Mountain Park for many years before moving to Snyder.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Berl Ervin of Snyder, Delores and Mike Gauntt of Hobart, a son Lee Self and his wife Carla of Snyder, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister Grema Messick.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Snyder Public Library or to the Fairlawn Cemetery Association.
