Biography

Age 82, Lawton - Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. John F. Saville officiating.
Mr. Rounds died Friday in Lawton.
The family will greet friends from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.
He was born July 20, 1927 in Lawton to Leon V. Rounds, Sr. and Bertha Pamella Smith. He grew up in Lawton and attended Lawton High School before joining the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of World War II. Following his discharge he returned to Lawton where he worked several jobs including being employed by Fairmont Creamery and Coca Cola Bottling. He would later work for Civil Service at Fort Sill until his retirement.
He married Ruth Ann Smith on August 2, 1969 in Lawton. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church where he was active in the choir and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; a step son, Don Smith and his partner Joy Enos, Lawton; two grandchildren, Dustin Smith and wife Tiffany, Oklahoma City, and Brent Smith, Atlanta, Georgia; a step sister, Robin Adams, Frazee, Minnesota, his sister in law, Junko Rounds, Lawton.
His parents and a brother, Leon V. Rounds, Jr., preceded him in death.
